Erde, Holz, Asphalt, Erwärmung, Wandel: Der oft nichtbeachtete Boden wird in dieser Performance zum Erzähler und Archiv von Materialveränderungen. In Heat Island setzt Chiara Bartl-Salvi – gemeinsam mit den Tänzerinnen Chihiro Araki und Elena Francalanci – Schuhe als Werkzeug ein. Dabei wird die Reibung mit dem Boden zum zentralen Element von Choreografie und Sound. Eine Wechselwirkung in flüchtiger Intensität, bei der das Aufeinandertreffen von Kräften Rückstände hinterlässt. Reibung als physischer Prozess, aber auch als Interaktion mit urbanen Landschaften. Heat Island zitiert TikTok-Choreografien und Musikvideos, bewegt sich zwischen Vorbild und Nachahmung und wird durch dreistimmigen Gesang sowie wiederkehrende Klangvariationen ergänzt. Doch wer ist die*der Autor*in, wenn alles in ständiger Wiederholung begriffen ist?

Chiara Bartl-Salvi
ist Choreografin, Performerin und bildende Künstlerin. Sie studierte Kunst und Medien an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. Während ihres Studiums entwickelte sie ihr Interesse für Räume, Objekte und Bühnenarchitekturen. In ihrer Praxis untersucht sie die Verbindung von Bewegung, Klang und Material im Kontext von Zeitlichkeit und Fragilität. Ihre Arbeiten kombinieren klassische Tanzformen mit Popkultur und viralen Trends und wurden u. a. bei WUK performing arts, im Kunstverein Eisenstadt und im nova space Weimar gezeigt. Als Performerin arbeitete sie u. a. mit Donna Huanca, Malin Bülow und der Kompanie Freispiel.

Earth, wood, asphalt, warming, change: In this performance, the ground, frequently ignored, becomes the narrator and archive of material changes. In Heat Island, Chiara Bartl-Salvi – together with dancers Chihiro Araki and Elena Francalanci – uses shoes as a tool. Friction with the floor becomes the central element of choreography and sound. An interaction of fleeting intensity, where the collision of forces leaves residual traces. Friction as a physical process but also as a means of interaction with urban landscapes. Heat Island refers to TikTok choreographies and music videos, moves between original and imitation, and is complemented by three-part vocals and recurring variations of sound. But who is the author when everything is in constant repetition?

Chiara Bartl-Salvi
is a choreographer, performer and visual artist. She studied art and media at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Over the course of her studies, she developed an interest in spaces, objects and stage architectures. In her practice, she examines the connection between movement, sound and material in the contexts of temporality and fragility. Her works combine classical dance forms with pop culture and viral trends and have been shown at WUK performing arts, Kunstverein Eisenstadt and nova space, Weimar. As a performer, she has worked with Donna Huanca, Malin Bülow and Kompanie Freispiel, among others.
