Performance von CHRISTINE GAIGG / 2ND NATURE im FUNKHAUS WIEN

Eifersucht ist eine Gefühlslage, die lieber verschwiegen und verleugnet als nach außen getragen wird. Trotzdem betrifft sie alle auf die eine oder andere Weise, vor Eifersuchtsprozessen, Machtdynamiken, Besitzansprüchen oder Verlustängsten ist niemand völlig gefeit. Jealousy nimmt diese Ausgangslage wörtlich und setzt die Performance nicht als theatrale Darstellung vor ein Publikum, sondern lässt sie als intime Versuchsanordnung sich mitten im Publikum entfalten, wie auch schon das Vorläuferprojekt polymono (Premiere ImPulsTanz Festival 2024). Diese "Choreografie der Nähe" bindet die Sinne, die Körper und die psychologischen Agenden der Zuschauenden aktiv mit ein; an einem Ort, dessen ursprünglich für akustische Übertragung hermetisch abgeschlossenen Räume dafür geöffnet und gemeinsam mit dem Publikum bespielt werden.

Performance by CHRISTINE GAIGG / 2ND NATURE at FUNKHAUS WIEN

Jealousy is an emotion that people prefer to conceal and deny rather than express openly. Nevertheless, it affects everyone in one way or another; no one is completely immune to jealousy, power dynamics, possessiveness, or fear of loss. Jealousy takes this premise literally and does not present the performance as a theatrical performance in front of an audience, but rather allows it to unfold as an intimate experiment in the middle of the audience, as was the case with the predecessor project polymono (premiere at ImPulsTanz Festival 2024). This “choreography of proximity” actively involves the senses, bodies, and psychological agendas of the audience in a place whose rooms, originally hermetically sealed for acoustic transmission, are opened up for this purpose and used together with the audience.
